Mission
Produce renewable energy while capturing and sequestering carbon, replacing fossil fuels, and helping restore forests
Vision
-
Make Bioenergy a standard partner to sustainable forestry
-
Process 1m tons of sustainably sourced biomass
-
Improve the livelihood of every community we enter

Wildfire Problem
21% of trees are dead or dying (18 billion tons of biomass). 41% are damaged by insect and disease, 9.8 million acres, a 70% increase since 2021. By 2027 25% of live forest biomass is expected to die from insects or disease (USDA). Meanwhile, forest fires are up 400%, stuck in a vicious cycle of dead wood fueling fires creating more deadwood. Current Inventories of dead trees will produce 36 billion tons of CO₂ from decay or fire. That's 7X the annual emissions of the United States of 5 billion tons.
New Partners Needed
Sustainable forest management requires systematic thinning of narrow trees to prevent disease and reduce fire risk. Pulp and Paper Mills buy the majority of narrow logs. 30% of Pulp and Paper Mills have shut down since 2000 and 60% are at risk (ResourceWise). Narrow trees make up 40-80% of forests. Without supporting industry forests cannot be sustainably managed. Managed forests are 88% less vulnerable to wildfires and can recover carbon stocks in 7 years (USFS).
